Aqualis    
AQUALIS is a public intercommunal company set up in 1999. The company – which had 15 partners when it was set up – now has 26, including 18 of the 20 local councils in the Verviers area.
AQUALIS was created from an awareness and a necessity. The necessity was that the local councils in the city of Spa found themselves needing a new infrastructure for the thermal baths. The awareness related to both the obvious potential for the area for tourism – whether it was the diverse, and largely preserved, natural environment, its heritage and infrastructures, folklore and events, and the quality of its food products – and on the importance of strengthening its own identity.
